Job summary

Southeast Missouri State University seeks a Director for the Institute for Cybersecurity to provide strategic leadership, oversee the Cyber Command Center and Cyber Range, and align programs with regional workforce needs. The role advances the institute’s mission to prepare students for cybersecurity careers and expand community education and workforce training.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in cybersecurity-related field; or Bachelor's with 5+ years in advanced cybersecurity roles.
• Proven leadership in cybersecurity education, industry, or applied research.
• Strong knowledge of threats, practices, and technologies; NSA Center of Academic Excellence involvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the Institute aligned with SEMO’s mission and regional workforce needs.
• Cultivate partnerships with industry, government, and community organizations to expand impact and visibility.
• Design and oversee cybersecurity workshops, bootcamps, and training for diverse audiences.
• Expand offerings in certification prep, attack simulation, and executive briefings.
• Oversee budget, staffing, and resources to ensure sustainability and growth.
• Promote the Institute as a regional hub for cybersecurity awareness and workforce readiness.
• Foster applied research and leverage the Cyber Command Center and Cyber Range for learning and innovation.
