Job summary

Citi is seeking a Director of Applications Development to lead the Customer Management domain within Banking Operations. You will direct a team of engineers, own a portfolio of technology investments, and shape platforms used by millions of Citi customers.

This senior role requires hands-on architectural leadership, experience with AI in software development, and collaboration with executive leadership to drive digital transformation at scale.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in technology delivery within a large organization.
• 8–10+ years of direct people management of senior engineers and multi-team orgs.
• Experience managing large engineering teams and multi-investment tech portfolios.
• Financial services tech delivery experience with working knowledge of products and competition.
• Ability to align engineering direction with business objectives at a senior level.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering organization across multiple teams.
• Own the architectural vision for the Customer Management domain and related platforms.
• Oversee a portfolio of 50+ active technology investments with cross-line responsibilities.
• Provide executive oversight for critical systems, governance, and safety/compliance.
• Oversee cloud migrations and data conversions across lines of business.
• Establish and govern delivery standards, documentation, and control frameworks.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to align engineering priorities with business goals.
• Oversee change management, DR planning, and risk assessment across the portfolio.
• Communicate effectively with executives, peers, and engineers to build consensus.
