Job summary

Citi is seeking a Director of Applications Development to lead the Customer Management domain within Banking Operations. You will direct a team of engineers, own a broad portfolio of tech investments, and shape the architectural direction of platforms used by millions of Citi customers.

The role requires hands-on leadership, enterprise-scale design experience, and active AI utilization to augment the software lifecycle, in a hybrid environment based in Irving, Texas.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in technology delivery or applications development in a large-scale organization.
• 8–10+ years of direct people management, including senior engineering managers and multi-team oversight.
• Experience managing large engineering teams and multi-investment tech portfolios with accountability for quality, budget and outcomes.
• Experience delivering technology solutions in financial services, with knowledge of financial products and competitive landscape.
• Advanced understanding of technology strategy and aligning engineering direction with business objectives.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering organization across multiple technical teams.
• Own the architectural vision for the Customer Management domain, including SOR platforms, Salesforce integrations, and modern architectures (Angular, Microservices, AI).
• Manage a portfolio of 50+ active technology investments balancing priorities across Retail Banking, Wealth Tech, and Mortgage.
• Provide executive oversight for a large portfolio of apps including critical systems and SaaS platforms with governance and safety focus.
• Oversee major programs like cloud migrations and data conversions leveraging AI tools.
• Communicate effectively with senior executives, peers, and engineers to build consensus.
