Job summary

Merrick Bank, a Utah-based FDIC-insured lender, seeks a Director of Credit Risk Oversight to lead second-line risk across consumer lending portfolios. You will challenge strategies, assess performance, and influence portfolio decisions through data-driven insights.

Qualified leaders will influence governance, develop risk assessments, and deliver executive reporting while partnering across lines of defense. Hybrid work in the US with on-site days as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a quantitative field and 8+ years in consumer credit risk management or strategy.
• Experience providing independent review, challenge, or oversight of credit strategies, forecasts, underwriting policies, or risk governance processes preferred.
• Strong knowledge of credit risk governance practices, second-line risk management principles, and escalation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight of consumer lending portfolios with monitoring of risk trends and indicators.
• Lead independent review and challenge of material credit decisions and assumptions.
• Develop independent credit risk assessments and executive-level oversight reporting.
• Support development and enhancement of credit risk governance practices and review frameworks.
• Serve as functional lead for credit decision review and challenge activities across Credit Risk Oversight.
• Partner with first- and second-line functions to influence outcomes with data-driven analysis and challenge.
