Job summary

Merrick Bank is seeking an AVP, Credit Risk Oversight to lead independent risk assessment, CECL review, and governance for the credit card portfolio. You will drive risk insights, calibrate loss forecasts, and influence portfolio strategy with data-driven analysis.

Remote or hybrid work is available, with occasional onsite collaboration; you will mentor staff and partner across lines of defense to sustain robust risk management practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is required.
• Eight years of experience in consumer credit risk management or strategy.
• Deep expertise in non-prime credit card lending and CECL.
• Experience providing independent review, challenge, or oversight of credit strategies, forecasts, or policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight of credit card portfolios including monitoring performance and risk trends.
• Lead CECL estimates review and challenge of loss forecasts.
• Develop and maintain CECL oversight standards and governance practices.
• Prepare independent risk assessments and executive-level reporting.
• Collaborate with first- and second-line teams to inform decision-making.
