Job summary

Merrick Bank, a subsidiary of CardWorks Financial Group, seeks a Director of Credit Risk Oversight to lead second-line reviews of consumer lending risk across portfolios. You will conduct independent evaluations, provide challenge, and influence portfolio strategy through forward-looking risk analysis.

This role requires deep expertise in credit risk, governance, and analytics, with strong communication to senior leadership. Hybrid work arrangement offered in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or quantitative discipline required.
• MBA, Economics, Statistics or related field preferred for advanced expertise.
• Eight years of experience in consumer credit risk management or strategy required; experience in secured lending, consumer loans, indirect lending, or third-party lending programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Credit Risk Monitoring & Assessment: provide independent oversight of consumer lending portfolios and risk indicators.
• Review, Challenge & Concurrence: lead independent review of material credit decisions and escalate concerns.
• Credit Oversight Reporting: develop independent risk assessments and executive reporting.
• Credit Governance: support development and enhancement of credit risk governance practices.
• Review & Challenge Framework Leadership: establish standards for independent challenge and escalation.
• Credit Risk Partnership & Influence: build cross-functional partnerships and influence decisions with data-driven insights.
