Valiant Integrated Services seeks a Director of Contracts to lead several contracts team members supporting Valiant's Mission Support (MS) line of business. This position will lead a team who performs cradle to grave contract management against multiple contract types including cost reimbursement, firm-fixed price, fixed price/level-of-effort, and time and materials. This position will primarily service USG programs and will be located in Herndon, VA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as the contracts subject matter expert for the MS line of business.
- Collaborate with other functional and executive leadership to identify opportunities and mitigate risk items.
- Provides contract management guidance across a portfolio of programs with varying degrees of complexity.
- Responsible for training and development of direct staff.
- Reviews contract awards and modifications for accuracy and negotiates changes with the Government contracting agency or Prime Contractor.
- Work closely with Program Operations to ensure contractual compliance and coordinate with Government contracting agency to obtain clarifications or negotiate changes.
- Support client engagement and business development activities.
- Coordinate with Program Operations and Finance to resolve any programmatic or financial items that may arise.
- Coordinates with corporate legal to review and negotiate Teaming Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and other legal documents as required.
- 8+ years of experience in USG contracts administration/management
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree
- Masters of Business Administration is preferred
- 5+ years leading a team of contracts professionals
- 5+ years of managing a portfolio of contracts with a combined annual sales volume of at least $400M.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks independently with minimal oversight or guidance.
- Expert knowledge of contracting environment for federal government agencies particularly within the Department of Defense and Department of State.
- Strong knowledge and ability to apply requirements of federal contracting terms and conditions, including FAR/DFAR and applicable agency supplement requirements, and government accounting practices to contract administration activities.
- Strong knowledge and ability to apply the Service Contract Act (WD & CBA); Organizational Conflict of Interest; TINA; CAS; and other public and state laws affecting administration of services contracts.
- Understanding of export compliance/ITAR rules and regulations and laws as it applies to defense services on federal government contracts.
- Strong understanding of the Government acquisition process, regulations, processes and procedures.
- Ability to effectively manage project schedule, changes, claims, and enforcement of contract terms and conditions is critical.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, interpersonal, analytic, briefing and writing capabilities.
- Ability to work independently or on a team in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple high priority items and deadlines is required.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs is required.
- Subject to background and drug testing.
- Active TS/SCI is required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
This position may require CONUS or OCONUS travel. Applicant must have the ability and willingness to travel on an as-needed basis. Anticipated travel is less than 20%.
