Job summary

The Director, Contingent Workforce and Staffing will lead Memorial Hermann’s internal variable staffing pool (Central Staffing) which includes approximately 1,200 licensed and non-licensed clinical staff, non-clinical staff, and 21 administrative support team members.

Responsibilities include interfacing with campus/divisional leadership (system wide) to project and assess variable staffing needs; recruit and retain a diverse pool of qualified staff to meet the needs of the organization, and

Qualifications

• Five plus years managing staffing or operations in healthcare or clinical staffing.
• HR experience including recruitment, employee relations, policy, performance, payroll.
• Experience with Vendor Management Systems (VMS) or Staffing VMP preferred.
• Experience with staffing agencies, negotiating contracts and rates.

Responsibilities

• Lead Central Staffing team and develop a cohesive staffing organization.
• Provide integrated processes and technology such as VMS and scheduling tools.
• Build and manage a network of contract labor agencies and negotiate fees.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership to provide staffing coverage for vacancies.
• Develop staffing and recruitment strategies to attract contracted talent.
• Identify ways to reduce contract labor spend and convert contracted staff to employees.
• Oversee onboarding and education to meet Joint Commission requirements.
• Establish annual Central Staffing budget and monitor monthly spends.
