Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal seeks a Director for its Consumer & Retail Group in San Francisco. You will lead complex engagements across transformation, performance improvement, and M&A, owning value creation from start to finish.

Build and lead high-performing teams, manage C-level relationships, and guide strategic decisions with credibility. You will identify opportunities to expand EBITDA and synthesize data into actionable, company-wide recommendations with measurable impact.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree from a top university; MBA preferred.
Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or related field.
6+ years of relevant experience in consumer/retail or consulting.
Proven success leading complex work streams and projects.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
Strong written communication and ability to develop client-ready documents.
Open to domestic travel up to 70% M-F.

Responsibilities

Lead complex client engagements across transformation, performance improvement, and M&A; own value creation.
Build and lead high-performing teams on engagements with rigor and speed.
Manage C-level and board relationships; guide strategic decisions with credibility.
Identify high-impact opportunities for EBITDA expansion with clients.
Synthesize data into enterprise-level recommendations with P&L impact.
Drive change management and stakeholder alignment across organizations.
Build durable client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
Contribute to CRG tools, methodologies, and intellectual property; mentor staff.
