Job summary

Secretariat Advisors LLC is seeking a Director of Construction Delay (Finance) to lead complex delay analyses for large-scale projects and support expert reports for litigation and arbitration. The role requires deep experience in project management, cost controls, and economic modeling, with strong client interaction and staff mentoring.

Travel up to 20% may be required. The position sits within Secretariat's renowned Construction Delay team, known for its expert witness work on major projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in building construction, engineering, or related field.
• Qualification in construction law or law preferred
• 10+ years' experience in construction project management, scheduling, or cost controls
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working at a dispute consulting firm leading on cases
• Strong skills using MS Office Suite, MS Project, Primavera P3/P6, Suretrak
• Familiar with delay analysis methodology including static delay analysis
• Excellent written and verbal skills including experience drafting reports for litigation/arbitration (ability to write and conduct business in English)
• Experience mentoring and developing junior level staff, and overseeing their work
• Detail oriented with the ability to communicate highly technical material to non-technical audience
• Ability to travel as needed (generally under 20% but may vary)
• Must be eligible to work in the US without the need for sponsorship in the future

Responsibilities

• Research and fact-finding to identify key details for expert reports.
• Detailed data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and overruns.
• Quantification of delays and damages for large construction projects.
• Economic modeling to determine lost profits due to schedule delays and cost overruns.
• Manage engagements including staff supervision and client interaction.
• Participate in new business pursuits and assist in proposals and client presentations.
• Assist executives in identifying the best approach to litigation/arbitration matters.
