Job summary

J.S. Held is seeking an Associate Director for the Construction Advisory & Disputes Team with a specialty in construction claims and dispute resolution.

The role focuses on forensic delay analysis, delay/ disruption analysis, and expert report preparation, while supporting live projects and client communications. The successful candidate will lead in providing consultancy on substantial disputes, manage client relations, and present findings to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of forensic delay analysis experience in construction/engineering.
• Undergraduate degree in construction management, engineering quantity surveying, or similar.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Chartered status or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years on-site construction experience with engineering or construction firms.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong client-facing ability and trust-building.
• Strong technical underpinning in project planning.
• Flexible and able to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel for assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead as the primary assistant to the Delay Expert(s) on disputes and claims.
• Perform forensic delay analysis and contribute to expert reports.
• Prepare delay/disruption analyses and cost quantification.
• Provide programming support on live projects.
• Interact with clients and present results under tight deadlines.
• Promote construction advisory services to the industry.
