Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline seeks a Director of Commercial Data Products to lead enterprise data products used for commercial decisions. You will own product roadmaps, data models, and SLAs, while guiding an engineering team and contractors in a collaborative, regulated pharma environment.

You will partner with analytics, field operations, and data governance to ensure trust, scalability, and AI readiness of data assets across Customer 360, CRM, and sales domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data product management, data architecture, or data management.
• Data engineering experience, including Git and strong coding practices; SQL and data tooling.
• Experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models for analytical platforms.
• Proven ability to manage a product roadmap with stakeholder alignment and delivery commitments.
• Experience leading teams—contractors, contingent, and matrixed teams.
• Experience owning data products with defined SLAs, versioning, and adoption metrics.
• Experience with commercial pharma data ecosystems (CRM, syndicated data, HCP) and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own a set of enterprise data products in Commercial Activity and Customer & Account domains.
• Own the product roadmap, gather requirements, negotiate scope, and publish roadmaps and releases.
• Own data models (conceptual, logical, physical) for reuse and complex commercial data problems.
• Partner with engineering to build and maintain products on Databricks and cloud platforms.
• Champion engineering best practices: Git, PRs, automated tests, CI/CD, and code review.
• Lead a team of contractors, set priorities, and ensure knowledge capture.
• Own source data relationships and specifications for trusted 360-degree customer data.
• Encode, version, and certify business definitions and rules with owners; ensure AI readiness.
• Manage change: versioned releases, parallel runs, and mapping documentation for changes.
• Act as domain authority, reporting on product health, data integrity, adoption, and impact.
