Job summary

CrowdStrike, Inc. is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the Cloud Detection Platform, overseeing detection engines and the supporting infrastructure at massive scale.

You will own strategy, architecture, and roadmap, guiding multiple teams and collaborating with product, data, and content groups to deliver on ambitious commitments. This role focuses on reliability, latency, and cost efficiency while pushing forward an AI-driven security platform for thousands of customers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• Experience owning large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Track record of delivering strategic outcomes over 1–2 year horizons.
• Strong architectural judgment with build/buy/consolidate decisions.
• Experience with SLOs, incident response, capacity planning, and cost management.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity and cross-team dependencies.
• Excellent communication with executives, peers, and engineers.
• Experience applying AI to improve decision-making and processes.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-year strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the Cloud Detection Platform, including engines and content delivery infrastructure.
• Lead and grow an organization of managers and senior engineers across multiple teams.
• Be accountable for reliability, latency, and cost of detection rule execution at fleet scale.
• Drive evolution toward a unified multi-engine detection architecture across engines.
• Partner with detection engineering, content, product, and data platform teams to prioritize roadmap commitments.
• Build guardrails for safe shipping of detection content with pre-release validation and staged deployment.
• Manage escalations and cross-team dependencies and represent the platform in architecture forums.
• Drive annual operating plan and reflect CrowdStrike's culture in team operations.
