CrowdStrike is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a cloud backend team in the AI Detection and Response group. You will mentor backend engineers, own the provisioning/orchestration systems, and contribute to code as needed to deliver at massive scale.

The role emphasizes leadership, architecture, and hands-on contribution in a hybrid 2–3 days on-site role at an on-site location in the United States.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years in an engineering management role leading backend teams.
• Strong hands-on coding ability and willingness to contribute code.
• Experience building cloud-native microservices at scale in AWS/GCP/OCI/Azure.
• Proven track record in distributed systems, orchestration, and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a backend engineering team.
• Own the technical vision and roadmap for customer lifecycle management across services.
• Drive architectural decisions for scalable, reliable distributed systems.
• Contribute code as needed to unblock critical deliverables.
• Partner with product management to translate business requirements into technical strategy.
• Establish and maintain engineering best practices including CI/CD and runbooks.
• Manage team capacity, sprint planning, and delivery commitments.
• Own service reliability, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
