Energize Capital is seeking a Director of Portfolio Finance & Operations to guide its climate software portfolio companies on financial management and value creation at its Chicago headquarters.

The role oversees portfolio-level finance, advises CFOs/CEOs on budgeting and capital strategy, and leads the Portfolio Finance & Operations team. The candidate will drive diligence, reporting, and finance best practices across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 13+ years in transaction advisory, finance, or value creation.
• 5+ years in deal advisory with exposure to 10+ transactions.
• Deep expertise in SaaS/software metrics (ARR, retention, unit economics).
• Experience leading teams and managing consulting relationships.
• Strong professional network in finance and operations.
• Chicago-based; in-office Monday–Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Oversee portfolio-level financial management and value creation initiatives.
• Advise portfolio company CFOs and CEOs on budgeting, capital strategy, and transaction readiness.
• Lead the Portfolio Finance & Operations team.
• Support complex financial due diligence on new investments.
• Oversee quarterly performance reporting and financial analytics.
• Develop finance best practices and processes across the portfolio.
