Job summary

The United Nations Foundation is seeking a Director, Adaptation & Resilience to lead the development and execution of its adaptation and resilience strategy. You will work with Climate & Environment leadership to advance policy, advocacy, and partnerships, guiding fundraising and external engagement.

The role requires senior-level experience in climate policy, strategic communications, and multi-stakeholder collaboration, with on-site and international coordination responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in climate policy, political science, economics, environmental studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in climate policy, adaptation, resilience, or closely related fields.
• Advanced knowledge of climate change, adaptation, and resilience policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of UNF’s adaptation and resilience strategy.
• Coordinate engagement across international forums (UNFCCC, UNGA, World Bank, G20).
• Provide strategic direction for the Adaptation Campaign Hub and communications.
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies with UNF teams.
• Cultivate partnerships with governments, civil society, private sector, and foundations.
• Provide policy analysis and briefing materials for UNF leadership.
• Represent UNF in international and domestic meetings and forums.
