Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Director to lead Amazon Dedicated Cloud Data Center Operations, responsible for end-to-end operational excellence of air-gapped, classified regions serving U.S. Intelligence Community and DoD.

This role owns DC Operations, Systems & Planning, Network Design, and Physical Security across ADC regions. The leader will shape the long-term operations roadmap, drive innovation, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure capacity delivery, accreditation, and mission-driven

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data center operations, infrastructure, engineering, or related technical leadership roles.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience, including managing senior managers and directors.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Experience operating in classified, air-gapped environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale, geographically distributed infrastructure operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of all ADC data center regions across air-gapped environments.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary org spanning DC Ops, DC Systems and Planning, Network Infrastructure, and Physical Security.
• Define long-term infra operations roadmap aligned with government mission requirements.
• Drive innovation to bring commercial cloud practices into air-gapped regions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure capacity delivery and operational readiness.
• Interface with U.S. Government customers translating mission needs into infra priorities.
• Collaborate with compliance and legal to maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance.
• Define and own operational KPIs: availability, incident response, capacity, security posture.
• Build and retain a high-performing cleared workforce; foster ownership and discipline.
• Develop succession plans and invest in career growth across the org.
