Job summary

Forward Air Corp. seeks a Director, Claims to provide strategic leadership across a distributed network of LTL, brokerage, and multimodal transportation operations. You will oversee claims intake, investigation, defense, settlement, and recovery, driving governance, compliance, and continuous improvement.

The role partners with Operations, Legal, Risk, and Insurance to standardize practices and improve outcomes while coaching a geographically dispersed team and advancing performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Risk Management, Transportation, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end claims lifecycle across LTL, brokerage, and multimodal operations.
• Establish and maintain claims handling standards, settlement authority guidelines, escalation protocols.
• Manage claims severity, financial exposure, and total paid claims.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Partner with Legal, Risk Management, and Insurance teams on high-exposure claims.
• Lead and develop a geographically dispersed team of claims professionals.
• Develop and manage claims analytics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
• Collaborate with Operations and Sales to improve investigations and resolution processes.
