Job summary

S&P Global Ratings is seeking a Director to lead a team of analysts in public finance, with a focus on charter school and related municipal sectors. You will guide credit analysis, ensure rigorous workflow, and leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance research and monitoring.

Face-to-face collaboration is expected at our offices, with two days per week on-site. You will mentor analysts, drive analytical quality, and contribute to market outreach and thought leadership while upholding independence

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in public finance, credit analysis, or related field.
• Strong credit analysis expertise delivering high-quality forward-looking output.
• Experience mentoring or managing analysts and building team capability.
• Practical experience using generative AI, advanced data analytics, or automation tools.
• Strong relationship management and communication skills with issuers, investors, and market participants.
• Disciplined portfolio risk oversight to identify emerging risks early.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work on deadline.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop analysts, building credit expertise and leveraging digital/AI-enabled tools.
• Drive adoption of modern analytical practices by embedding AI, analytics, and automation.
• Foster culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and analytical rigor across the team.
• Lead high-quality credit and capital markets analysis across issuers and sectors.
• Translate issuer developments into clear, decision-ready perspectives with scenario analysis.
• Identify and implement workflow improvements with Data, Technology, Compliance, and Methodology teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with issuers, investors, and market participants.
• Support market outreach and thought leadership while maintaining independence.
