Job summary

Merrick Bank in South Jordan, Utah seeks a Director to lead near-prime and non-prime credit strategies, optimize portfolio performance, and manage risk within regulatory standards. You'll design models and frameworks, and work with large datasets to improve risk-adjusted returns.

You will collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Tech, supervise analysts and contractors, and travel 1-2 days weekly to our Wilmington, Delaware office when needed.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of the experience required above must be in the Credit Card Industry or Consumer Finance Industry.
• Develop credit strategies in near-prime or non-prime portfolios.
• Risk-return optimization using advanced financial modeling (NPV, DCF, ROI).
• Design risk management frameworks aligned with regulatory standards.
• Analyze unsecured credit portfolios with behavioral segmentation and lifecycle dynamics.
• Use statistics and machine learning to develop credit strategies.
• Work with large datasets and tools SAS, SQL, Python, Power BI for analysis.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Technology to govern analytics-driven strategies.
• Develop test-and-learn frameworks to monitor treatment effectiveness.
• Translate findings into strategic recommendations for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and execute near-prime or non-prime portfolio credit strategies.
• Leverage risk-return optimization for credit strategies using modeling.
• Design and implement risk management frameworks aligned with regulatory standards.
• Analyze unsecured credit portfolios with lifecycle dynamics insights.
• Develop credit strategies using probability, statistics, regression, and ML.
• Work with SAS, SQL, Python, Power BI for analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to implement analytics-driven strategies.
• Implement test-and-learn frameworks to refine treatments.
