Job summary

Middlesex School in Concord, MA seeks a Director of Campus Safety and Security to lead a comprehensive safety program across the campus. You will partner with law enforcement, emergency services, faculty, students, and staff to maintain a secure environment and coordinate incident responses during emergencies.

The role requires strategic vision, risk management, policy development, drills and training, and budget stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• Minimum five years in campus safety, law enforcement, or emergency management, with at least three in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.
• Commitment to equity and inclusive campus culture.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• EM-related certification preferred (CEM/PSP/CPP).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive campus safety plan.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigate identified hazards.
• Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and emergency plans.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and campus partners.
• Lead campus emergency responses and coordinate drills and training.
• Oversee hiring, training, and performance of safety staff.
• Manage safety budget and procurement of equipment.
• Prepare reports for leadership and the Board of Trustees.
