Job summary

University of Vermont is seeking a Director of Transportation and Parking Services to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the university's transportation and parking programs. The role reports to the Executive Director of Facilities Management and focuses on safe, customer-focused, and financially sustainable mobility across campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 7–10 years leadership in transportation, parking, or facilities management.
• Experience managing budgets, personnel, and complex operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
• Experience in a public service-oriented position to include budget oversight and personnel management.
• Experience in transportation demand management and federal/state regulatory experience.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with municipal and regional partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead parking administration, enforcement, and customer service.
• Oversee shuttle, transit programs, bike/micromobility, and special events.
• Develop long-range mobility strategies and transportation planning.
• Manage department finances, personnel, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with campus partners and regional transportation organizations.
• Ensure safe, customer-focused, and financially sustainable transportation system.
