Job summary

American Roofing & Metal Company is seeking a driven Director, Business Systems & IT to lead a major technology transition and serve as the go-to resource for software and hardware used daily. This role owns the companywide BuildOps implementation, enhances field and office productivity, and ensures smooth IT operations across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate will manage BuildOps rollout, Smartsheet solutions, and provide hands-on support while traveling periodically to Louisville,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Systems, Computer Science, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in business systems administration or IT management
• Experience leading a software implementation or system migration
• Experience in construction, roofing, or field services preferred
• MDM experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead the companywide BuildOps implementation from planning to go-live
• Administer Smartsheet, dashboards, reports, and automations across departments
• Provide IT support and device management across multiple locations
• Coordinate with field and office staff; travel to Louisville, Lexington, and Cincinnati for in-person support
• Own data migration, system configuration, and integration planning

Duties&Responsibilities

BuildOpsImplementation&ChangeManagement

• LeadthecompanywideimplementationandtransitiontoBuildOps,frominitialconfigurationthroughfullrolloutacrossalldepartmentsandlocations
• Developandmanagetheimplementationplan,timeline,andmilestonesincoordinationwithcompanyleadership
• Owndatamigration,systemconfiguration,andintegrationplanningbetweenBuildOpsandexistingtools
• Designanddelivertrainingforofficeandfieldemployees,andbuildreferencematerials/SOPstosupportlong-termadoption
• ServeastheprimarypointofcontactwiththeBuildOpsvendorforimplementationsupport,escalations,andongoingaccountmanagement
• Identifyandtroubleshootissuesthatariseduringrollout,anddrivethemtoresolutionwithminimaldisruptiontooperations
• Gatherfeedbackfromdepartmentleadersandfieldemployeestoguideconfigurationdecisionsandpost-launchimprovements

BusinessSystems&SmartsheetSupport

• ServeascompanyadministratorforSmartsheet,supportingandmaintainingsheets,reports,dashboards,andautomationsusedacrossdepartments(bidlog,WINlog,warehouserequests,hiring,submittals,andsimilarworkflows)
• PartnerwithdepartmentleaderstobuildnewSmartsheetsolutionsthatimprovereportingandday-to-dayworkflow
• TrainemployeesonSmartsheetandotherbusinesssystems,andactasthego-toresourceforquestionsandtroubleshooting
• Evaluateexistingbusinesssystemsandrecommendimprovements,integrations,orreplacementsasthecompanygrows

ITSupport&DeviceManagement

• Serveastheprimarypointofcontactforsoftwareandhardwareissuesacrossallcompanylocations
• Manageprovisioningandsetupofphones,laptops,andotherequipmentfornewhires,transfers,andreplacements
• Maintainanaccurateinventoryofcompanyhardware,softwarelicenses,anduseraccounts/access
• Coordinatewithoutsidevendorsandmanagedserviceprovidersonnetwork,phonesystem,andinfrastructureissuesasneeded
• Manageuseraccessandpermissionsacrosscompanysoftwaresystems,ensuringtimelysetupanddeactivationasstaffingchanges

• Interfacedirectlywithfieldemployeestoresolvetechnologyissuesandensuredevicesandsoftwareholdupinfieldconditions
