Job summary

BD is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead the BD Excellence Office’s execution engine in New Jersey. The role partners with the SVP to translate strategy into measurable outcomes across governance, prioritization, and cross-functional delivery.

The Director acts as Chief of Staff to the SVP, fostering continuous improvement, training, and best-practice adoption while aligning senior leaders and contractor resources to deliver key initiatives with speed and impact.

Qualifications

• Experience leading execution engines in large, matrixed organizations.
• Strong governance, prioritization, and performance-management capabilities.
• Proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives with executive stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and change-management skills.
• Global/enterprise-level collaboration experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the SVP, BD Excellence to convert strategic priorities into actionable operating plans and deliverables.
• Support the SVP, BD Excellence and the Office Leadership Team in driving initiatives through BD Excellence.
• Lead the governance framework for the BD Excellence Office, including leadership reviews, operating cadences, and decision forums.
• Drive portfolio prioritization processes to ensure optimal focus, sequencing, and resource allocation across initiatives.
• Oversee organizational performance management through KPI tracking, scorecards, dashboards, and execution reviews.
• Develop executive communications, leadership presentations, business updates, and organizational messaging.
• Lead high-priority special projects and cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the SVP and leadership team.
• Identify execution risks, dependencies, and barriers, driving mitigation actions to maintain momentum.
• Manage the BD Excellence Deployment Coordinator and contractor workforce, ensuring effective deployment of resources and delivery of outcomes.
• Facilitate alignment among internal and external stakeholders to enable enterprise-wide collaboration and accountability.
• Continuously improve operating models, governance processes, and business management practices to enhance organizational effectiveness.
