Job summary

Madison Energy Infrastructure is seeking a Director of Battery Asset Management to build and run the operating platform behind our national distributed battery fleet. We operate 80 MW across 30 sites and plan rapid expansion.

You will manage the Battery Asset Manager, work hands-on with OEMs, and own the fleet performance, O&M agreements, and fire safety compliance while designing the scalable operating system and reporting framework to enable reliable dispatch and financial returns.

Qualifications

5+ years of distributed generation battery experience.
Hands-on troubleshooting experience with battery systems.
Experience negotiating or administering O&M agreements or LTSA.
Experience reviewing maintenance reports and challenging contractor conclusions.
Strong familiarity with OEM manuals, warranties, and operating requirements.
Management experience with at least one direct report.
Budget ownership experience.
Knowledge of battery fire safety and applicable codes.
Experience with operational reporting tools such as Power BI.
Ability to read electrical diagrams, including three-line diagrams.

Responsibilities

Fleet Performance: own metrics like 97%+ monthly availability and ≤7-day MTTR.
Monitoring and reporting: collaborate with analytics to build dashboards and cadence.
O&M and long-term service agreements: negotiate, scope, and hold vendors accountable.
Fire safety and code compliance: oversee fire panels, suppression, AHJ requirements.
Team: manage Battery Asset Manager and grow the team as the fleet expands.
Commercial fluency: understand project finance, IRR, offtake, and land leases.
