Job summary

Walmart is seeking a senior leader in fulfillment automation to guide concept development, system design, and investment decisions across evolving fulfillment networks. You will translate business needs into scalable architectures, lead cross-functional teams, and drive data-driven ROI analyses from pilot to full deployment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 5 years' experience in Engineering, supply chain, or related area; or 7 years' experience.
  • 3 years' supervisory experience.
  • Proven expertise in automation system design, integration, and implementation within complex supply chain environments.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate complex information clearly and credibly.
  • Experience in project management, including risk identification, contingency planning, and performance monitoring.
  • Business acumen to develop and evaluate business cases and assess ROI.
  • Proficiency in process design, continuous improvement, and operational excellence methodologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Engineering, supply chain, or related-area experience.
  • Preferred: Doctorate or master's degree in Computer Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Use data, simulation, and financial analysis to evaluate technologies, design tradeoffs, scalability, and ROI.
  • Lead cross-functional design efforts with Operations, Product, Finance, Real Estate, Construction, and technology partners.
  • Build engineering capability and develop repeatable, modular concepts from pilot through scaled deployment.
  • Develop and mentor automation talent.
  • Foster a high-performing team with technical expertise, strategic perspective, and collaborative skills.
  • Create solutions for new facilities, retrofits, and evolving fulfillment needs.
