Job summary

Moore in the United States is seeking a Director, Audience Strategy who works in our Audience Planning service line and partners with teams across Moore to support client success. Working closely with the VP of Audience Strategy, this role ensures programs and plans align with clients’ objectives, translating insights into strategic recommendations.

Using data analysis and audience insight, the director identifies growth opportunities, builds segmentation, and develops implementation plans.

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years’ experience in direct response marketing; agency or consulting firm preferred.
  • Experience with direct mail, digital, sustainer, event, or other strategies is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong direct mail background is critical.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit marketing, including telemarketing, email, social or mobile.
  • Ability to travel ~10–20% of the time.

The Director, Audience Strategyworks in our Audience Planning service line andpartners with teams acrossMoore to support client success. Working closely with the VPof Audience Strategyand other strategy team members, this role ensures that all programs, plans, and other activities align with our clients’ business and strategicobjectives, acting as a trusted advisor to internal teams and clients alike. Through a marriage of data analysis, audience insight, and experience, they will identify opportunities for program growth and improvementsthat reflect a keen understanding of how organizations and constituents interact, bringing insights into action and developing strategic recommendations that directly translate to the goals of the client.

  • Workcloselywith theVPofAudience Strategy and Client Success leadershiptodevelopfundraising strategiesandcontinuouslyidentifyopportunities for improved results through innovation.
  • Collaborate with team leadership, otherstrategyteammembers,and partner agencies to turn ideas into executable plans.
  • Build segmentation recommendations for each campaign and intersect with partner agencies as needed when modeling is involved. Developmodel implementation plans and recommendations for audiences and campaigns.
  • Analyze donorand consumertrends and translate them into meaningful strategic actionto reach our clients’ goals.
  • Manage progresstowardsgoals and, in concert with theclientsuccessteam, identifyadjustments to strategyasneeded.
  • Meet regularly with theotheragency,strategy, andchannel accountleads– Direct Mail, Digital, DRTV, and MarCom(ifapplicable) --to ensure a coordinated understanding of the account status and keepappropriate teammembers abreast ofprogramdevelopments.
  • Attend channel team meetings withclients. Participate with an ear towards knowledge sharing, opportunity identification, and channel integration.
  • Develop and deliver strategic recommendationsand briefstothe client andEdge’s internalteamto ensure each campaign is aligned to achieve annual performance goals for the client and to ensure the teams can drive successful implementation of all initiatives.
  • Partner closely withotherstrategycolleagues andanalyticsteam membersto track and analyze ongoing programs, evaluate return on investment of all programs, and make recommendations for using learnings in future audiences or campaigns.
  • In coordination with the Client Success team, helpfacilitateclient conference callsand meetingsto walk through strategies and initiatives, and document key next steps.
  • Participate inquarterly client meetings, including presentation developmentand delivery.
Your Profile:
  • Minimum6-10years’ experience in direct response marketingrequired;agency or consulting firmexperiencepreferred.
  • Experience withdirect mail,digital, sustainer, event, or otherstrategiesis a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experiencerequired.
  • Strong direct mail background is critical.
  • Knowledge of and experience with marketing and/or fundraising for nonprofits, including any or all of the followingadditionalchannels: telemarketing, online- including email, social, or mobile marketing, face-to-face.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a matrix organization
  • Ability to handle multiple complex projects; a resourceful self-starter who will take initiativeand follow through on projects
  • An understanding of the nonprofit industry, including perspectives on how the following influence program strategy, isrequired.
    • Program differences (scope and framework).
    • Donor behavior.
    • Marketing strategies and tactics to engage donors (for different goals).
  • Comfortable using data to drive decisionsand the ability to create meaningful, consumable insightsappropriate fordifferent audiences.
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectivelyinterface withclients and internal teamsat executive and junior levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a creative and resourceful problem solver.
  • Self-motivated with high intellectual curiosity, drive, determination, and persuasion skills.
  • A willingness to incorporate both internal and external feedback.
  • Willing and able to make well-thought-out, timely recommendations; able to explain and support those recommendations; seeks advice from others and includes appropriate personnel in the process.
  • Strong workethicand ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, outstanding organizational, time management, and planning expertise.
  • Ability to travel~10-20%of the time
