Job summary

Bentley Systems seeks a seasoned software engineering leader to guide a 20-30 person team delivering API and MCP services across Bentley product groups. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people leadership, global collaboration, and strategic influence on API standards and open-source collaboration.

Based in the Philadelphia/Exton area with hybrid work, travel about 25% globally, and a focus on delivering scalable, quality software in alignment with product roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Has 15+ years of experience in software development with significant leadership of global teams.
• Leadership experience developing APIs, libraries, platforms, and/or specifications for developers.
• Excellent communication for technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
• Transparent, politics-free leadership with high emotional intelligence.
• About 25% purpose-based global travel.
• Knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, C++, SQL, MCP, AWS and/or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Drive engineering outcomes by leading an engineering team of 20-30 across multiple regions.
• Instill a business-minded engineering culture and document best practices.
• Foster openness and collaboration within teams and with the open-source community.
• Ensure continuous high-quality software delivery and stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborate with product engineering to execute the roadmap.
• Recruit, onboard, coach, and manage performance for contributors and leaders.
