Job summary

Golden 1 Credit Union is seeking a Director of Analytics and Risk for Consumer Lending to lead enterprise credit risk management, drive informed lending decisions, and strengthen risk controls in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires deep expertise in credit lifecycle areas, hands-on data manipulation using SAS/SQL/Python/R, and strong leadership to mentor analytics teams while aligning with the credit union's mission and core values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience required.
• 10+ years as a Lender or in Credit Risk Analytics or Credit Administration at a financial institution.

Responsibilities

• Understand, evaluate and direct Golden 1's credit products, underwriting, related lending policies, risk profile, portfolio and product concentration risks, including geographic, industry, risk rating methodology, and other aggregate credit characteristics.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to a team of analytics/risk associates, fostering a collaborative, engaging, and innovative work environment.
• Foster a positive and engaging work environment for each team member by promoting skill development, coaching for improvement and growth, inspiring others through your words and actions, ensuring positive employee morale throughout Golden 1, and embracing our mission, vision and core values.
• Responsible for ensuring the creation, implementation and reevaluation of best practice credit risk-related procedures and policies throughout the credit union.
• Perform risk reviews as needed for member products and services.
• Contribute to enhancing loan policies as needed to fulfill credit risk functions and goals.
• Monitor and evaluate ongoing performance of custom score (AI) models used in the loan decisioning process.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.
