Job summary

Meta is seeking a Director of Software Engineering for Central Security to lead the identity, authentication, and access management strategy across Meta's infrastructure. You will drive a credible model for agent identity as AI agents act on behalf of users, and you will scale a global team of software and security engineers to protect critical systems.

You will partner with Security, Infrastructure, HR, Legal, and product teams to translate business needs into secure, scalable tradeoffs,

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience focused on security, identity or infrastructure systems
• 7+ years of engineering management including managers
• Experience building and scaling large engineering teams
• Cross-functional collaboration with product, design and data science
• Experience using metrics and data to drive security decisions

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-year strategy for identity, authentication, and access management across Meta's infrastructure
• Lead development of agent identity and authorization models as AI agents act on behalf of people
• Build and scale a distributed engineering and security organization across global sites
• Partner with Security, Infrastructure, HR, Legal to balance security with operational velocity
• Represent identity and access perspectives to senior leadership and advocate for investments
• Drive reduction in access-related incidents by addressing root causes
• Automate access approval and review processes at scale
• Define and enforce access policy to meet regulatory obligations
• Develop controls for geographic expansion into higher-threat environments
• Serve as escalation point for urgent identity and access issues
