Job summary

Complex is seeking a Director of Data Engineering – AI & Data Platforms to lead strategy, architecture, and hands‑on development of a scalable data platform powering analytics, ML, and AI initiatives. This role partners with engineering, analytics, and product teams to drive AI‑ready data foundations.

The position requires 8+ years in data/analytics, 3+ years leading data teams, and strong SQL/Python, Snowflake, and AWS experience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data/analytics engineering or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the data engineering and analytics platform.
• Design scalable, secure data architectures and pipelines for analytics, ML, and AI apps.
• Establish engineering standards for data modeling, pipelines, testing, deployment, and observability.
• Lead batch and near-real-time data pipelines using SQL and Python.
• Oversee Snowflake data modeling and warehouse architecture for performance and reliability.
• Drive cloud data infrastructure with AWS (S3, EC2, Lambda) and related services.
• Build data quality, testing, monitoring, lineage, and alerting frameworks.
• Evaluate and adopt technologies to improve scalability and efficiency of the data platform.
• Balance hands-on work with architectural leadership and team mentoring.
