Job summary

The Related Group, a national leader in luxury multifamily developments based in Miami, seeks a Director of Acquisitions & Development to lead sourcing, underwriting, and development of affordable housing projects.

You will drive growth of the affordable portfolio, manage complex transactions from due diligence through closing, and collaborate with brokers, developers, and public agencies to secure funding and incentives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years in real estate acquisitions and development, including affordable housing.
• Proven knowledge of LIHTC, Section 8, and tax-exempt bond financing.
• Track record of sourcing, underwriting, negotiating, and closing deals.
• Established relationships with brokers in the affordable housing industry.
• Strong understanding of affordable housing capital structures and project feasibility.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and project-management skills; able to manage multiple projects.
• Travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate affordable multifamily acquisitions and rehabilitation projects.
• Maintain relationships with brokers, property owners, developers to generate deal flow.
• Conduct underwriting, market analysis, feasibility studies, and investment evaluations.
• Negotiate LOIs, purchase agreements, and other transaction documents; present to executives.
• Oversee due diligence for property acquisitions.
• Oversee projects from feasibility through closing, financing, construction and stabilization.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, attorneys, consultants, and property management.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, milestones, and financial performance; handle challenges.
• Ensure projects meet budgets, schedules, objectives, and affordability requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of federal/state/local affordable housing programs and financing.
