Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Director, Business Capture to lead our capture efforts across U.S. Government, defense, and aerospace opportunities.

You will set strategy, direct pursuit teams, and oversee qualification, planning, and competitive positioning to win contracts. This senior leader partners with business development, proposal management, engineering, contracts, finance and executive leadership to translate customer needs into differentiated capture strategies and drive long-term growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, engineering, finance, or a related field with 11–15 years of related experience.
• Master's degree with 9–12 years of related experience, or PhD with 7–10 years of related experience in business capture, capture management, business development, proposal management, strategic sales, government contracting, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of leadership or management experience in business capture, business development, proposal management, sales, government contracting, or a related function.
• Expert knowledge of capture management, business development, strategic opportunity management, competitive analysis, and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Business Capture function by establishing departmental objectives, capture priorities, resource strategies, and plans.
• Lead multiple strategic capture efforts by allocating capture resources and ensuring effective execution.
• Evaluate pipeline health, resource utilization, and performance while implementing improvements.
• Establish capture management strategies and customer engagement plans to improve win probability.
• Partner with leadership across functions to develop capture strategies supporting strategic opportunities.
• Evaluate customer requirements, competitive intelligence, and capture risks to strengthen positioning.
• Lead, coach, and develop Business Capture personnel to foster collaboration and growth.
• Build cross-functional partnerships to ensure coordinated execution of pursuits.
• Represent the function during executive reviews and customer engagements.
• Direct capture policies, processes, and procedures for consistent execution.
• Manage budgets and resources while identifying efficiency improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance capture effectiveness and collaboration.
