Job summary

Lincoln Financial is seeking an experienced Director, Actuarial, Life Experience Management to lead mortality assumption development and support pricing, valuation, and risk management through data-driven insights. The role involves collaborating with IT, Valuation, and other teams to enhance data controls and drive process improvements across experience studies.

You will document methodologies, automate recurring tasks, and ensure data integrity while leveraging SQL, Python and visualization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • 5–7 years actuarial experience with credentials (FSA or ASA).
  • 1–2 years experience with life pricing or assumption development.
  • Strong analytical skills with data insight extraction.
  • Ability to synthesize large data volumes and identify anomalies.
  • Hands-on SQL, Python or other programming languages.
  • Familiar with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).

The Role at a Glance

The Director, Actuarial, Life Experience Management, will provide support for experience studies initiatives with a focus on process improvements and providing experience insights. Contribute to data processing, assumption development, and reporting to support pricing, valuation, and risk management functions

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For
Must have
  • 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) (Minimum Required)
  • Minimum 5-7years of actuarial experience with actuarial credentials (FSA or ASA with additional years of experience)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience with assumption development or life pricing/product development
  • Analytical skills: ability to think critically, identify, and solve potential challenges independently
  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of data to extract insights and identify data anomalies
  • Hands on SQL, Python or any other programming languages preferred
  • Ability to bring innovative thinking to improve current processes
  • Priority setting, time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (ex., Tableau, Power BI)
Nice to Have
  • Life product knowledge, general insurance/business knowledge, and experience studies and/or data management experience
  • Experience leading a small team
  • Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, Dask) for large-scale data processing
  • Familiarity with version control tools (Git, GitLab, GitHub)
  • Exposure to predictive analytics

The pay range for this position is $152,250 - $243,600 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
