The Actuarial Development Program

The Actuarial Development Program (ADP) at Lincoln Financial Group is an industry-leading program that demonstrates Lincoln Financial’s commitment to creating highly qualified business leaders. As an ADP participant, you’ll be able to explore your unique interests while developing the essential actuarial, technical, management, communication, and leadership skills you need to succeed.

The Actuarial Development Program includes a series of rotations, typically every 18-24 months. For each rotation, roles are available in different business areas including Life and Annuities, Retirement and Group Protection. Experience gained will enable participants to become well-rounded actuaries with knowledge that may include Product Development, Pricing, Reinsurance, Inforce Management, Valuation, Financial Projections, Risk Management, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Strategy & Management, Appointed Actuary, Experience Studies, Modeling and Data Analytics & Actuarial Transformation.

ADP participants are expected to pass the Society of Actuaries’ exams at a prescribed pace. The program is designed to support you as you work towards your FSA and provide the training and resources necessary to become a well-rounded actuarial leader.

The Role at a Glance

This position will serve as a technical resource to execute life actuarial model transformation initiatives. In this role, you will focus on modernizing the in-force life modeling infrastructure and processes.

What you’ll be doing
Model Conversion
  • Collaborate with the team to convert pre-PBR stat reserve models from MG-Triton to Integrate
  • Refine independent model validation tools, suitable for reasonableness review and audit of actuarial models and reserve calculations
  • Identify and explain differences in results between modeling software systems
  • Validate models using multiple sources for accuracy and reliability
  • Partner effectively with stakeholders including Valuation production teams, Valuation Qualified Actuary, and the Appointed Actuary to understand pre- and post-model data needs
Model Transformation
  • Recommend and implement solutions to streamline valuation and financial projection processes
  • Collaborate across teams to enhance accuracy of projections
  • Provide guidance on structure of actuarial models, including inputs and outputs
Documentation
  • Maintain robust conversion and model enhancement documentation
  • Collaborate with Model Governance teams to follow established change management procedures
What we’re looking for
Must-haves
  • Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or other quantitative major
  • 3-6 Years’ experience that aligns with the responsibilities for this position
  • At least 7 actuarial exams passed; typically has ASA designation, progressing towards FSA designation

The pay range for this position is $79,601 – $145,100 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
