Job summary

Lincoln Financial is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst in Life Experience Management to support experience studies, data processing, and assumption development for pricing, valuation, and risk management.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support Life Experience Studies data needs, collaborating with IT, Valuation, and other teams.
  • Contribute to development of Policyholder Behavior and Morbidity experience assumptions.
  • Enhance controls over data flows and processes.
  • Share knowledge with teammates and implement best practices.
  • Document methodologies and automate recurring tasks to improve workflow.
  • Ensure data integrity in partnership with business units.

The Role at a Glance

The Senior Actuarial Analyst, Life Experience Management, will provide support for experience studies initiatives with a focus on process improvements and providing experience insights. The role will contribute to data processing, assumption development, and reporting to support pricing, valuation, and risk management functions.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Support Life Experience Studies data needs, including collaboration with IT, Valuation, and other teams as necessary
  • Support development of Policyholder Behavior and/or Morbidity experience assumptions as needed
  • Collaborate on the enhancement of our controls process for various data flows
  • Collaborate with teammates to share knowledge, institute best practices, and develop shared insights.
  • Document methodologies, automate recurring processes, and improve workflow efficiency
  • Collaborate with business partners to ensure data integrity
What We’re Looking For
Education
  • Undergraduate Degree; with a concentration related to Actuarial Science
  • ASA preferred
Required Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of actuarial or data analytics experience
  • Analytical skills: ability to think critically, identify, and solve potential challenges independently
  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of data to extract insights and identify data anomalies
  • Hands on SQL, Python, or any other programming languages
  • Ability to bring innovative thinking to improve current processes
  • Priority setting, time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (ex., Tableau, Power BI)
Nice To Have Experience
  • Life product knowledge, general insurance/business knowledge, and experience studies and/or data management experience
  • Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, Dask) for large-scale data processing
  • Familiarity with version control tools (Git, GitLab, GitHub)
  • Exposure to predictive analytics

The pay range for this position is $106,875 - $171,000 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
