Job summary

FourFound, a rapidly growing international data center developer, owner and operator, is seeking a VP of Acquisitions to lead identification, evaluation and acquisition of land and powered sites across the U.S. data center portfolio.

You will shape market strategy, lead commercial negotiations, coordinate due diligence and transition acquired sites into development, engineering and construction, working with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data center site selection, land acquisition or real estate development
• Strong understanding of powered land, utility capacity, interconnection, entitlements and data center site requirements
• Experience negotiating purchase agreements, options, leases, development agreements or joint ventures
• Ability to interpret technical, environmental, engineering and commercial due diligence

Responsibilities

• Lead the sourcing and acquisition of land, powered sites and data center development opportunities.
• Help define market-entry and location strategies based on customer demand, power and development feasibility.
• Manage the end-to-end site-selection and acquisition process.
• Evaluate sites across power, land, utilities, zoning, permitting, environmental conditions and buildability.
• Lead commercial negotiations with landowners, developers, brokers and transaction counterparties.
• Secure purchase agreements, options, leases and other site-control arrangements.
• Coordinate technical, legal, environmental, financial and commercial due diligence.
• Build and manage relationships with utilities, local jurisdictions, economic-development groups and community stakeholders.
• Manage external engineers, attorneys, brokers and specialist consultants.
• Prepare transaction summaries, investment recommendations, budgets and development schedules.
• Present acquisition opportunities and associated risks to senior leadership. Transition acquired sites into development, engineering and construction.
• Coordinate across engineering, construction, finance, legal, sustainability and operations.
• Maintain accurate reporting on utility engagement, queue position, power cost and delivery status.
• Support leadership with clear commercial, technical and market recommendations.
• 5+experience in data center site selection, land acquisition or real estate development is essential.
• Strong understanding of powered land, utility capacity, interconnection, entitlements and data center site requirements.
• Proven experience sourcing, evaluating and acquiring complex land or data center infrastructure opportunities.
• Experience negotiating purchase agreements, options, leases, development agreements or joint ventures.
• Ability to interpret technical, environmental, engineering and commercial due diligence. Experience managing relationships with landowners, brokers, utilities, government officials and consultants.
• Strong financial and commercial judgement with the ability to assess transaction and development risk.
• Experience managing multiple complex transactions across different markets.

A rapidly growing international data center developer, owner and operator is seeking a VP, Acquisitions to support the continued expansion of its U.S. data center portfolio

The company develops, acquires and operates large-scale data centers for major technology and enterprise customers. It is now expanding its power-development capabilities to deliver generation and energy infrastructure colocated with its existing and future data center campuses.

The Role

The Director, Acquisitions will lead the identification, evaluation and acquisition of land, powered sites and data center development opportunities across the U.S. data center portfolio. This individual will help shape market and location strategy, source new opportunities, lead commercial negotiations and coordinate the due diligence required to create a pipeline of high quality sites ready for development.

The role will work closely with development, engineering, construction, finance, legal, commercial and operations teams, as well as landowners, brokers, utilities, developers, government officials and external consultants. The successful candidate will combine strong real estate and transaction experience with a detailed understanding of power availability, entitlements, infrastructure requirements and data center development risk.

Key Responsibilities
