Job description

Lead the transformation of Accounts Payable at Worldpac. As Director, Accounts Payable, you will run enterprise-wide AP operations across our multi-entity B2B automotive parts distribution business and report to the Controller.

This role carries a dual mandate: stabilize and optimize core AP operations while modernizing AP processes, systems, and operating models. You will ensure strong controls, predictable execution, and service-level performance, while driving standardization, automation, and long-term platform evolution. Accounts Payable operates in Oracle Cloud, which gives you a significant opportunity to increase adoption, automation, and efficiency across invoice processing, vendor management, and disbursements.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on accounts payable leader with deep AP expertise, strong Oracle Cloud fluency, and a proven ability to lead teams through operational and systems change. You will ensure operational excellence, strong financial controls, and service-level performance across AP, while leading process standardization, systems optimization, and continuous improvement. You will also lead and develop a team of AP professionals across multiple locations.

What You Will Do
Accounts Payable Leadership
  • Lead end-to-end AP operations, including vendor management, invoice processing, three-way match, expense processing, and disbursements.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and controlled execution in support of month-end close, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
  • Establish and manage service-level agreements (SLAs), KPIs, and performance dashboards for AP.
  • Drive working capital initiatives, including disciplined payables management, payment terms optimization, and capture of early‑payment discounts.
  • Maintain strong SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness, including vendor master data controls and fraud prevention.
Stabilization & Process Excellence
  • Assess current-state AP processes to identify control gaps, inefficiencies, and operational risk.
  • Standardize and document AP processes across business units and locations.
  • Implement best practices in AP, including workflow management, exception handling, and centralized governance.
  • Build scalable operating models that support continued growth.
Systems Optimization & Transformation
  • Optimize Oracle Cloud AP functionality to ensure best-in-class utilization and adoption.
  • Partner closely with IT to improve systems integration, data quality, reporting, and automation (RPA, AI-enabled invoice capture, EDI optimization).
  • Lead the AP technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and financial controls.
  • Use AI tools in your day-to-day work, such as analysis, reporting, and process improvement, and set the expectation for your team to do the same.
Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead and develop a team of AP professionals across multiple locations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, customer and vendor service, and continuous improvement.
  • Assess talent capabilities, upgrade skill sets where needed, and build bench strength.
  • Lead change management efforts tied to process redesign, system enhancements, and organizational evolution.
What Success Looks Like (First 6 to 12 Months)
  • AP operations are stable, predictable, and consistently meeting defined SLAs.
  • Measurable improvement in working capital performance, including payment terms compliance and discount capture.
  • Standardized, well‑documented processes with strong internal controls.
  • Increased Oracle Cloud utilization, automation, and reduced manual intervention.
  • A high-performing, accountable AP team.
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance or accounting operations experience, including direct ownership of Accounts Payable and leadership of a multi‑location team.
  • Deep ERP experience; Oracle Cloud or other large ERP required.
  • Proven track record stabilizing underperforming functions and leading operational and systems transformation.
  • Strong working capital and cash‑flow management expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams through change and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong executive presence.
  • Experience and comfort using AI tools as part of everyday work, such as analysis, reporting, and process automation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or MBA.
  • Experience leading Accounts Payable in a complex, multi‑entity B2B distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
  • AP automation experience (strongly preferred).
