Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Director for its Accounting Advisory practice in the United States. The role combines technical accounting expertise with client leadership and business development to guide CFOs and finance teams through complex GAAP challenges.

You will lead engagements on revenue recognition, lease accounting, consolidations, and M&A integration, mentor senior staff, and work with CFOs and auditors to ensure timely delivery and first-rate advisory services.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of experience in accounting advisory, public accounting, consulting, or related fields.
• Prior consulting experience is required.
• Proven ability to lead complex client engagements from scoping through delivery.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge including U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with revenue recognition, lease accounting, purchase accounting, and consolidations.
• Experience supporting M&A transactions, integrations, or IPO readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple client engagements focused on accounting advisory, financial reporting, controllership support, technical accounting, and finance transformation initiatives.
• Advise clients on complex accounting topics, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, purchase accounting, business combinations, consolidations, carve-outs, and other GAAP-related matters.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to CFOs, Controllers, and finance leadership teams on accounting, reporting, and finance organization challenges.
• Lead engagement planning, staffing, budgeting, execution, and overall project delivery.
• Manage and mentor Managers, Senior Managers, and consultants across multiple engagements.
• Drive business development efforts through proposal support, relationship management, and identification of additional client needs.
