Qualifications

• 8+ years in public accounting, accounting advisory, or transaction advisory.
• Strong technical grounding in US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Track record advising senior finance stakeholders on complex accounting matters.
• Comfortable leading multiple concurrent engagements in a client-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting advisory engagements across technical accounting, financial reporting, and transaction-related matters.
• Advise clients through IPO readiness, acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, and other significant events.
• Provide technical guidance on US GAAP, SEC reporting, and complex accounting matters.
• Review technical accounting memos, position papers, and client deliverables.
• Serve as the senior point of contact for clients, auditors, and key stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor Managers, Senior Managers, and delivery teams across multiple engagements.
• Contribute to business development, account growth, and client retention.
• Play an active role in the continued development of the practice and the people within it.

Henderson Drake is working with a high-performing accounting advisory practice to find a Director to lead engagements and help grow their presence across the US.

The firm works with a broad client base, from fast-growing private businesses to large public companies dealing with complex financial transactions. This is a role for a senior CPA who wants more than just delivery oversight - someone who enjoys being in the room with executive stakeholders, solving difficult accounting problems, and building something alongside a team.

What you will be doing:

• Lead accounting advisory engagements across technical accounting, financial reporting, and transaction-related matters
