As a US-based warranty provider, we provide expertise in safety and homecare to our customers. Our integrated solutions meet customer needs both inside and outside the home. Inside the home we protect critical aspects of home function such as plumbing, heating and cooling, appliances, power surges, hot water heater, and interior electrical. Outside the home we provide protection for critical lines (water, gas, wells, sewers, electric and septic). We primarily go to market B2B2C, partnering mostly with water/gas/electric utilities and municipalities to offer our product leveraging their brand for marketing and often adding our subscription fee to the water/gas/electric bill itself. Position Summary

The Director, Accounting holds a key accounting role for OHS as this position leads the monthly accounting close process, manages an accounting staff of 8 professionals, prepares monthly financial statements, and leads the year-end audit process. This is an extremely important function for OHS as this role is instrumental in preparing financial statements for senior management, board of directors, and external lending institutions.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including journal entries, payroll, commissions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, statutory reporting, banking, and daily operations.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements.
  • Lead monthly accounting close process; Maintain and enforce a monthly close calendar, meeting all deadlines for reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Ensure the maintenance of financial records and accounting systems to ensure compliance with all regulations, generally accepted accounting practices and contractual requirements.
  • Prepare technical research memos for accounting issues.
  • Lead and manage all external audit processes.
  • Maintain stock compensation calculations.
  • Prepare and review numerous balance sheet analyses.
  • Review numerous tasks of accounting staff for accuracy and completion.
  • Prepare lender financials / ratio calculations.

Experience And Qualifications Of The Role

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles with increasing scope and responsibilities.
  • 6+ years of financial reporting preparation and coordinating year-end external audits.
  • 6+ years of direct people management experience with a track record of consistently. recognizing and rewarding excellent performance and addressing performance issues head-on, without delay.
  • Public accounting experience and accounting experience in PE owned companies.
  • Solid experience in preparing management / Board level reports / analyses.
  • Strong background in US GAAP.
  • Accounting experience in companies with revenues exceeding $500M.
  • Experience in both analyzing and implementing effective internal controls.
  • Diversity in utilizing accounting related software and ERP systems.
  • Acquisition accounting experience is preferred.
  • Ability to conduct accounting research and prepare technical accounting memos.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

We offer a compelling total rewards package that includes a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits to support your total wellbeing. The base pay range for this position is $ $140,000 - $195,000 USD Annual. The specific pay offered will depend on qualifications, experience, education and skill set. The compensation offered may also include an annual performance-based bonus, sales incentive plan or commission target.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree In Accounting Or Relevant Experience Required
