Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Directional Drill Operator/Locator to support underground conduit and fiber optic installations in a safety-minded environment. You will read maps, operate bore equipment, and coordinate with the Drill Locator to install fiber systems while ensuring public safety and project quality.

You will travel to job sites daily, maintain equipment, and work on urban utility projects with competitive hourly pay and strong benefits.

Responsibilities

• Locate a Horizontal Directional Driller for the installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable
• Operate a horizontal directional bore in collaboration with the Drill Locator to successfully install coax and fiber systems
• Ensure the safety of the public and other underground utility facilities
• Read utility locates and coordinates the daylighting of these facilities
• Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day
