Job description

Devereux’s West Meadow program located in Rutland, MA provides intensive, individualized care to boys aged 6‑17 with autism spectrum disorder. The program maintains a 1‑staff‑to‑3‑students ratio and focuses on trauma‑informed treatment.

The hourly wage starts at $20.50, increasing to $23.87 with higher education or experience. A $1,000 sign‑on bonus and an additional $250 bonus for MAP certification are awarded.

Responsibilities

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth assigned to you through direct supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors and providing positive reinforcement.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and living skills.
• Maintain adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with individuals under 21 who have psychological, emotional, or behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred.
• Must be able to attend a 2‑week paid orientation, Monday‑Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, in Rutland, MA.
• Must be MAPS certified or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
