Job summary

Devereux in Rutland, MA is seeking a Direct Support/Care Professional to support youth with emotional and behavioral needs. Schedule includes evenings/weekends (32 hours) with a pay range of $20.50–$23.87 per hour, depending on experience and education.

You will help ensure safety, supervise youth, provide therapeutic interventions, and assist with ADLs while completing required documentation. MAPS certification or ability to obtain it within 6 months is required; a 2-week paid orientation in

Job description

Pay range: $20.50 - $23.87 per hour depending on experience and education. Location: Rutland, MA.

Schedule: Thursday & Friday 3pm-11pm, and Saturday 7am-11pm (32 hours).

Sign-on Bonus: $1,000. Additional $250 Bonus if MAP certified.

Direct Support/Care Professional Responsibilities

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Living Skills.
• Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred.
• Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.
• Must be MAPS certified, or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
