Job summary

Devereux Massachusetts is hiring Direct Support/Care Professionals to work with youth with behavioral and emotional disorders in Rutland, MA. The role includes direct supervision, implementing therapeutic activities, and supporting daily living skills while maintaining safety.

A $1,000 sign-on bonus and an additional $250 bonus if MAPS certified are offered, with comprehensive benefits and a flexible schedule for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license required.
• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous experience with youth with psychological/behavioral disorders and autism spectrum disorders preferred.
• _attend a 2-week paid orientation in Rutland, MA.
• MAPS certification required or obtainable within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Ensure safety and security of youth with direct supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate environment.
• Engage with youth and reinforce positive behaviors.
• Teach Activities of Daily Living skills.
• Complete required documentation such as progress notes and incident reports.

Devereux - Massachusetts serves students with various complex psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder. Devereux's South Wing program serves IDD/ASD males, ages 15-21. With 1 staff to 3 students ratio, this program offers a high level of individualized care. Staff design house-specific routines, chores, and activities that support the individuals' growth and development.
As a Direct Support/Care Professional, You Will

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision .
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily (ADL) Living Skills.
• Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.

• Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.
• Must be MAPS certified, or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment
