Job summary

Chapter247 is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide direct, interactive supervision and instruction to children and youth in home and community settings, helping them explore, discover and achieve their goals. You will work with life skills, personal development and independent living objectives.

You will implement care plans, assist with daily living tasks, transport to activities, administer medications and document activities while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Medication administration training is provided before any youth contact.
• At least 6 months experience working with children/youth and/or experience in a human services field beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, interactive supervision and support to children to foster independence and the achievement of their goals.
• Implement the strategies and goals identified in the child's Care Plan.
• Assist with daily personal care tasks and routines.
• Use a personal vehicle to provide transportation to community activities, visits, appointments, etc.
• Administer medication as prescribed and document per procedures.
• Monitor environments for safety and provide training and support for emergencies.
