Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Sacramento seeks a Non-Medical Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with disabilities in living self-directed lives. Under the Program Manager, you will provide direct support, teach, coach, and facilitate activities aligned with PCP goals.

You will support ADLs, community participation, documentation, and safety, with occasional virtual/tech-assisted support. CPR/First Aid certification is required or obtainable within timeframe.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification within timeframe.
• DOJ fingerprint clearance and all pre-employment screening requirements must be successfully completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered individual and group supervision and instruction that actively engages participants and promotes independence.
• Develop and facilitate curriculum for individualized learning and community-based activities.
• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, toileting, dressing, eating, mobility, lifting, transferring, and positioning.
• Safely use adaptive and assistive equipment as required.
• Implement PCPs, individualized goals, and non-aversive behavior support strategies.
• Ensure safety of participants during loading/unloading of vehicles and adherence to dietary orders.
• Assist with medication administration or support in accordance with policy.
• Contribute observations and feedback to PCP progress and attend required meetings.
• Complete accurate progress notes, incident reports, and other documentation.
• Observe and report changes in health, behavior, safety, or well-being.
• Protect participant rights, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality in line with policy.
• Comply with all agency policies, regulations, and required laws.
• Respond to emergencies, accidents, and safety concerns per policy.
• Maintain regular attendance and participate in required meetings and trainings.
• Assist with routine cleaning and upkeep of facilities and work areas.
