Job summary

UCP in Sacramento is seeking a Medical Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in leading meaningful, self-directed lives. You will provide direct support, teach, coach, and facilitate activities aligned with PCPs, under the direction of the Program Manager and licensed staff.

This on-site role involves program facilities and community activities, with occasional virtual components.

Qualifications

• Must have CPR and First Aid certification.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered supervision and instruction promoting independence and PCP goals.
• Develop curriculum for individualized learning, social, pre-vocational, and community-based activities.
• Assist with ADLs including hygiene, toileting, dressing, eating, mobility.
• Support delegated health care tasks and specialized procedures under supervision of LVN/RN and physicians orders.
• Document progress notes and incident reports accurately and timely.
• Protect participant rights, privacy, dignity, and report suspected abuse or incidents.
