Job summary

Apis Services, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our clinical team, delivering compassionate care to individuals with developmental and behavioral health needs.

The DSP collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to support wellness, safety, and independence, while maintaining confidentiality and following organizational policies. The role requires flexibility, ability to work across home settings, and a commitment to trauma-informed practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year direct experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities or human services field.
• 3-year clean motor vehicle record and valid driver’s license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of trauma, trauma-informed care, and the creation of trauma-informed environments.
• Knowledge of and ability to work with developmentally disabled individuals.
• Completion of CPR and First-Aid training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities, including meals, housekeeping, and personal hygiene.
• Support independence and community involvement for individuals served.
• Document interactions and activities per policies and procedures.
• Respond to crisis situations per best practice, policies, and procedures.
• May assist individuals served with daily medication administration.
• Provide consumer transportation to medical appointments and activities.
