Job summary

The Chimes, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization providing educational, employment, residential, and behavioral health services. This role focuses on personal support in a residence, working directly with adults with developmental disabilities to promote growth and independence.

You will supervise, train, and assist residents in daily living, following individual plans and ensuring a safe, personalized home environment. The position requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have a driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
• Able to lift, pull, and push adequate weight to assist individuals (may exceed 50 pounds).

Responsibilities

• Work in the residence of a person served as a personal support, actively engaged with them, and ensure all programs and activities benefit the person served.
• Provide supervision and training to adults with developmental disabilities to promote growth toward their highest potential.
• Ensure the house is personalized to each person’s preferences and personality.
• Teach and instruct people served to do as much as possible for themselves according to program plans.
• Communicate with day program staff about the individual program when requested.
• Report concerns to the Community Support Manager promptly.
• Model positive behavior and support progress toward goals.
• Assist with independent living skills including mobility, budgeting, personal hygiene, cleaning, and daily routines.
• Keep track of records such as monthly reports and incident reports.
